12' Sailing Classic Dinghy Dear John Had the opportunity to sail the new boat this past weekend. The breeze wasn't very strong but made good conditions for the first sail. Must have done something right regarding sail structure and placement of the daggerboard, as the boat handles very well. Puffs didn't blow the boat over and only took a little weight shift to counter. Pointing ability was excellent. By the time I was used to the boat I wanted more wind! I think it would take a lot of wind to blow over this boat. By the way, I changed the weight of the fiberglass cloth from 6 ounce to 4 ounce and found the boat to handle my weight (230 lbs.) without sinking. The 4 oz. cloth shows the wood even better than the 6 oz. cloth. Hope you can forgive this sin!! Thanks again for an excellent design! Sincerely Charles Erickson
