Hi John 10/18/2001 It has been a while since I last wrote and sent you a picture of my boat in progress. Two reasons, one it has been too hot in Texas to work on it and second, I did something wrong and the hot glue was not holding adequately. So I have backed up and cleaned up the hot glue and switched to carpenters glue. Have just about recovered to where I was. The cedar strips will all be done in another week or two (or three or four). I am now starting to think about the fiberglass and wondering if you know a good book on the subject. In spite of my misstep on the hot glue I have enjoyed building this boat tremendously. Just what every retiree needs. When I finish and have something to talk about I would like to share some different techniques I had to develop for my use. But first I have to finish the boat. Thanks in advance for the recommendation of a book, hopefully one that wont break the bank. Gene Milner Note: I suggested that Gene

Hi John 11/19/2001 I have found this works well, adjustable straps to hold the strips to the forms and hand spring clamps to hold the strips even with each other and bungee cords pulled tight to pull the glue joint tight. Easy, fast, can do two strips at a time section by section. Works for me. Gene Milner To be Continued...
