Congratulations to Keith Sevener

Hi John,

Well I finally got the 10' Dinghy so I could try it. It has been a lot of fun, and mistakes, but I got it in the water yesterday! I took my daughter, her husband and the two grandchildren and went to Narrow Lake, which is about 10 miles from here. The boat floated and did not leak a drop. Had trouble getting the sail up, which I made out of blue plastic canvas I bought from Harbor Freight, as someone locked some of the things I needed in the truck. So lucky we came in two cars! After retrieving the extra truck keys things went better. Got the sail up and the center board and rudder in and I was on my way. Took a short sail out and back. Then took the grandchildren, Alex (12) and Elizabeth (9) for a ride they really enjoyed it. Then it was the daughter and son-in-law's turn. All went well. Boat really preformed nicely. Now I'll have to do a few finishing touches and put a few coats of varnish on to complete it.

I'll attach some pictures, and send a check for the plaque, unless there is a way I can email it to you.

Thanks for a very good set of plans. I planned rough cedar boards and then ripped them and put a bead and cove on the strips. I glued them together by using clamps and no nails, so I did not have to fill any holes.

Note the one picture that the boat will ever sail "up hill" Ha.

Thanks

Keith Sevener
